Nature's Healing Power

"I go to nature to be soothed, healed and have my senses put in order." Jack Burroughs

Our favorite secret to good health? Look to nature. Plants and herbs have been used for thousands of years to provide vitamins, minerals, and nutrients for nourishment. One of our favorite tinctures is elderberry syrup!

2 cups Fresh Elderberries (or use â…” cup Dried Elderberries)

1 Cinnamon Stick

2 tablespoons Dried Rosehips (optional)

2 tablespoons Dried Orange Peel (optional)

2 cups Water

1 cup Raw Honey

1. Place the elderberries, cinnamon stick, rosehips, orange peel, and water in a large saucepan and bring to a boil over medium/high heat.

Reduce heat to medium and gently simmer the mixture until it has reduced by half, about 30 minutes or so.

2. Place a fine mesh sieve over a bowl and strain the mixture, pressing on the solids to extract juice. Discard solids.

3. Let liquid cool for at least 20 minutes. Stir in the honey until fully combined.

4. Pour the syrup into a jar with a lid and store in the refrigerator.
