All Natural Deodorant + How to Make It

FACT = Natural deodorants help to mask and prevent body odor, whereas antiperspirant deodorants are designed to stop you from sweating completely. REALITY CHECK = As much as not sweating may sound like a good idea, our bodies need to sweat to release toxins and to rejuvenate our skin. Our bodies are not meant to be subjected to toxic chemicals, and wearing antiperspirant can cause this to happen at least once or even multiple times each day! THE PROBLEM? = Many commercial deodorants contain toxic aluminum that unnaturally reduces sweating — some research has linked aluminum to damaged DNA, abnormal cell function and changes in gene expressions. SOLUTION = The recipe below uses baking soda, coconut oil and essential oils that have natural antibacterial properties. Recipe: 1/4 c. aluminum-free baking soda (Frontier Coop) 3/4 c. Arrowroot powder 4-6 TBSP (melted) coconut oil

16-20 drops of essential oils Mix all ingredients together. Use 8-10 drops of up to 2 different essential oils - we love Lavender & Lemon for the ladies and Thieves & Tea Tree for the gents. Use more coconut oil for desired consistency. Store in glass jar with a tight fitting lid.
